Overview:

The industrial sector as we know it is facing its latest revolution. This revolution to the so-called Industry 4.0, is to be brought about by “digitalization”: a concept that involves using smart data gathering and information processing technologies to improve efficiency, sustainability, and productivity of the industrial sector. Since the sector forms the backbone of any country’s economy, it is essential that industries in Pakistan embrace the Industry 4.0 revolution and use innovative technological solutions for enhancing economic prosperity. We have developed a framework (methods, procedures, SOPs) by benchmarking the global practices to carry out the assessment of adoption of Industry 4.0 in the industries. In our framework development, we aim to devise methods to measure the Industry 4.0 readiness score for three fundamental blocks, Organization, Process and Technology of any manufacturing or process industry. These three blocks must be evaluated simultaneously to fully utilize the Industry 4.0 potential in transforming the industry into the industry of-the-future.
